Proposals Engineer (JRN-32506)

POSITION: Proposals Engineer (JRN-32506). We are seeking a Proposals Engineer to join our team, responsible for developing and managing technical proposals for our engineering solutions. This role requires strong analytical, technical and commercial acumen to create winning proposals that align with customer requirements and business objectives. The role will also involve international travel to engage with clients, assess project requirements and support business development. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop detailed technical and commercial proposals based on customer requirements. Work closely with engineering, sales and production teams to define project scope and costs. Interpret technical specifications, drawings and tender documents to develop competitive proposals. Prepare cost estimates, pricing strategies and risk assessments for each proposal. Ensure proposals meet industry standards, regulations and company guidelines. Maintain accurate records of proposals, revisions and related documentation. Provide technical support to sales teams during client meetings and negotiations. Participate in international travel to meet with clients, assess project sites and present proposals. Continuously review and refine proposal processes to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS - Experience in proposals, estimating or a related technical engineering role. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical specifications and produce clear, concise proposals. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise across departments. Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field. Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - Experience in the mining, heavy machinery or manufacturing industry. Knowledge of contract negotiation and commercial project management. Knowledge of bulk materials handling.
