Job Summary: To manage Branch Operations, Health & Safety, Stock Management, Training, Systems and Procedures, and customer service to meet and exceed set branch targets.
Key Duties:
Hold regular review meetings with the teams to ensure they are performing to set KPI targets.
Regular customer contact to develop relationships both in branch and on site to ensure sales and margin targets.
Ensure customer service is at the highest possible level and deal with all requests and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Ensure phones are answered and customers are contacted in a timely and appropriate manner.
Ensure branch stock valuations and classifications are kept within the company's targeted figures and stock levels at the branch are in line with sales expectations.
Overview of stock to ensure a high standard of quality throughout the ranges; ensuring stock rotation and slow-moving stock is dealt with appropriately.
Manage all branch supplier relationships to the benefit of the Branch.
Oversee debt control for the branch and review with the Group Credit Controller and Area Director.
Ensure all branch overhead costs are kept within the agreed budget.
Regular reporting and analysis to ensure all opportunities for growth and efficiencies within the branch are being explored.
Work with marketing to organise all local marketing campaigns.
Lead the Branch by conveying the Company's mission, vision and values to all employees and stakeholders.
Management of staff to include engagement, recruitment, onboarding and training and development of employees.
Lead and motivate employees to ensure optimum performance from all employees.
Liaise with HR to ensure the company policies is followed in relation to people and employee issues are dealt with appropriately.
Responsibility for Health and Safety of the branch on a day to day basis using the Southall`s system.
Know and understand the quality and safety policies and demonstrate this comprehension through daily leadership and actions.
Ensure tidiness and presentation of the branch is maintained at a high standard.
Requirements:
Previous experience of people management.
Fork lift truck licence & experience.
Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
Loading and unloading of vehicles (including HGV Lorries) in the most efficient manner.
Able to demonstrate knowledge of timber general building and hardware products and their application.
Experience of working in a customer service environment.
Knowledge health and safety regulations.
Well-developed people skills.
Ability to supervise and support a team of people.
Able to deal with customers and develop a strong relationship with them.
Preferably experience of working in a similar merchant environment.
Preferably a strong knowledge of timber and building products and their application.
