Our client seeks an Engineering Manager to join their team. This managerial role is to lead and manage a diverse team of qualified engineers responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the company's mobile, data, fixed, and broadband infrastructure which serve both the consumer and business/enterprise segments. The role involves overseeing the engineering team, ensuring projects are completed on time, maintaining high standards of quality, and driving continuous improvement across engineering operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers focused on network deployment, optimisation, and maintenance. Manage team resources, ensuring the right balance between project workload, business as usual support, individual development and training needs. Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and skill assessments for team members. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and solutions-oriented engineering culture. Oversee the execution of engineering projects related to mobile, data, fixed, and broadband network services, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. Coordinate with product, sales, professional service, and other departments to align engineering priorities with business needs and customer requirements. Ensure the timely resolution of project issues, including technical challenges, resource constraints, and customer-impacting problems. Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve local network issues and outages, minimizing service disruptions for customers. Monitor local network performance and implement improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency. Manage the CTIO budget for Isle of Man. Responsible for (a) identifying capex requirements, (b) creating business cases and (c) controlling opex. Support the businesses commercial growth targets, work with the commercial teams on opportunities, providing regular delivery updates, managing external resources etc. Work closely with senior leadership to define and execute the technology roadmap in support of the company's strategic goals. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on project progress, risks, and dependencies. Ensure engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies. Investigate security alerts, provide incident response, and assist in the implementation of mitigations, within your local operations remit and with support from the other engineering teams as deem required. Key Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in engineering management, preferably in the telecom industry. Proven experience leading teams of engineers, managing multiple projects, and driving performance improvements. Technical expertise in telecom infrastructure, including experience with mobile networks (2G, 4G, 5G), data (ethernet, MPLS), broadband (Fiber, GPON), and fixed-line voice (SBC, SIP) networks.
