Technical Manager

Our client seeks a Technical manager to join their Fleet Operations Department. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the Marine Manager to ensure that Company vessels, linkspans and port installations are maintained to the standards required to ensure a safe, reliable and effective service is maintained at all times. Responsible for maintaining Company vessels in good order and fit for purpose ensuring that all Statutory and Class Surveys are carried out in a timely and effective manner. Undertake the preparation and execution of dry-docking events including all aspects of project management from planning, budget setting and control through to completion. Periods of travel off Island are also required for meetings, dockings etc. Contribute to the continued effectiveness of the Company's Safety Management System by attending Management Review Meetings. Ensure that all Company personnel meet their commitments to the Company's Safety Management System. Responsible for the identification of training needs for all personnel under his/her control within the Safety Management System. Ensuring relevant technical Non-Conformances are identified, recorded and analysed and that all necessary precautions have been taken to prevent recurrence. Responsible for undertaking investigations into any major machinery failures. Acting as the Deputy DPA/CSO undertaking these roles when rostered and during periods of official leave. Key Skills & Experience: Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency or equivalent. Marine background with senior seagoing experience. Experience in Ro-Pax operations preferably in Northern Europe. Highly developed organisational and communication skills. Works well under pressure and able to multi task. Strong communication skill. A flexible approach to working as some out of hours and on call periods will be required.
