Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and analysis of bulk material handling equipment, conveyor systems and mechanical structures. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for static, dynamic and fatigue assessments of critical components. Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, reviewing designs and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Conduct third-party audits, failure investigations and structural assessments per international regulations. Manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with subcontractors and oversee project timelines and budgets. Interface with clients and stakeholders, offering expert guidance and engineering solutions. Oversee procurement, construction support and commissioning of mechanical systems. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred). Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng./Charted Engineer) Registration or eligibility. 10+ years of experience in mining, bulk material handling and heavy industry. Expertise in FEA software (e.g., Ansys, NX Nastran) and conveyor design tools (e.g., Sidewinder, Belt Analyst). Strong knowledge of design standards (CEMA, DIN 22101, SANS 10162, ISO 5049-1, BS EN 13749). Proven experience in structural audits, fatigue analysis and failure investigations. Excellent project management and technical report writing skills. Ability to lead teams, liaise with clients and drive engineering excellence. Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required. Proven experience in detailed machine/product designs in the mining industry.
