Position Summary:

Supervise day-to-day departmental shift operations. Support the development, evaluation and improvement of key performance indicators for plant operations. Contribute to the development, and leadership of department to achieve the plant and company objectives. Supervises available resources and leads associates to perform all day-to-day departmental tasks in the most cost-effective manner while ensuring a quality product is processed according to schedule. Supports proper use of all Swagelok personnel systems and adherence to all regulatory requirements placed on the plant. Supports company operating plan along with Swagelok's mission, vision and values.


Key Responsibilities:
Transformational Leadership:
Communicate (lead by example) mission, vision and values. Motivate associates to meet key indicators. Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
Associate Development:
Develop and maintain workforce skills plan. Manage hourly workforce development for department to meet skills plan. Develop associates through effective input to the Performance Management Process, PLP, PIP etc.
Change Catalyst:
Recognizes the importance of change, introduces new ideas for others to act on and actively and positively participates in change projects.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Establishes contacts and begins building a network of colleagues at various levels and with a variety of opinions and experiences. Takes initiative in group/team discussions and decision-making processes and recognizes the value in diversity of opinion, ideas and experience for team success. Demonstrates ability to operate effectively independently and within teams, recognizing when each work style is appropriate and will be most effective.
Continuous Improvement:
Search out, recommend and implement process improvements (CIAS). Plan future department initiatives. Ability to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing / assembly / departmental processes, methods and supporting systems. Ability to maintain and continuously improve product and process quality approaches, and key quality improvement tools.
Transactional Leadership:
Meet departmental and value stream objectives. Address and resolve daily operational issues. Assist plant leadership in driving and accomplishing key performance indicators. Resolve product, process and equipment issues.
Supervision / Management of Others:
Manages human resources in order to meet capacity requirements. Address and resolve daily personnel issues or conflicts. Plan and prioritize daily job assignments.
Capacity & Manning:
Detailed understanding of load, capacity, staffing and workforce skill sets.
Company Policies and Procedures:
Maintains fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures
Customer Focus:
Demonstrates strong customer service orientation in all its forms. Responds to standard requests from internal and/or external customers.
HR Procedures:
Detailed understanding of HR procedures e.g., disciplinary process.
Value Stream Boundary Team Leadership:
Lead value stream boundary team.
Recruitment:
Lead recruitment activity for department.

Position Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associates or Batchelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 2-year experience of leadership, technical ability
