Infrastructure Engineer

Our client looks for an Infrastructure Engineer to assist their team on a 6 month contract. Role Profile: You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems within defined requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation and maintenance of the company's computing infrastructure. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, proven professional experience, and a thorough understanding of industry best practices. Key Responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for complex issues escalated from 1st and 2nd tier support teams. Infrastructure Management: Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services. System Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime. Security: Assist the Security team to implement and manage security measures to protect the organisations data and systems. Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders and suppliers to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT services. Project Management: Assist in the implementation of IT projects to improve infrastructure and support business objectives.
Maintenance: Coordinate with vendors to ensure seamless maintenance, upgrading, patching and operation of business systems. Excellence - This Role will hold the systems to the highest standards or excellence, incorporating industry standard technology and practices. The role will ensure that we have robust processes and monitoring to support the excellent IT environment. Integrity - The role will ensure the integrity of the infrastructure by maintaining high standards in infrastructure, network security and system reliability. Collaboration with the rest of the business will be essential to implement consistent and robust solutions that uphold the integrity of our IT environment. Innovation - This role will demonstrate a continuous approach to innovative methods of monitoring, maintenance and enhancement of the infrastructure. Key Skills and Experience: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong technical skills and a detailed knowledge of industry best practices. Ability to work within specified requirements, costs, and timelines. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamworking abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Solid knowledge of Azure and the Microsoft environments. Proven experience within the IT Infrastructure industry.
