Hand Sewer Technicians

Main Purpose of Job: Hand sewing and finishing all pieces coming from linking department to the client's required high standard.

Duties Include:
Working with a latch tool to finish all ends and threads after garments come out of the linking department.
Hand sewing specific areas, such as collars and plackets, securing any raw edges or finishing's before garments are sent to the washing department.
Hand labelling of garments after pressing is complete.
Attention to detail and rigorous checking of work to ensure all ends are finished and neatly hidden before moving on.
High standard of work, following techniques precisely to ensure all pieces are correct and at the standard expected by clients.
Adaptability moving between styles and techniques smoothly and quickly.
Working closely with linking and repair departments, picking up on any faults promptly and passing back to the required department.
Keeping tables and working areas well organised ensuring no pieces are lost or styles mixed up.
Also keeping area clean and tidy. Regular sweeping throughout the day to maintain a tidy department.
Monitoring of tool box recording contents and informing the hand sewing supervisor immediately if tools are lost or broken.
Communicating with the hand sewing supervisor daily to be instructed on current styles and be given daily personal targets.
Striving to reach daily targets and higher to improve efficiency and output of department.


Role:

As a hand sewing technician you will be expected to be a competent hand sewer working independently on the garments keeping the high standard of the company and finishing to the client's specific requirements.
