Key Responsibilities:
As a Games Programmer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and testing game functionality in
alignment with project requirements. This involves collaborating with artists, designers, and other programmers
to bring game concepts to life through interactive and engaging gameplay mechanics. You will also be tasked
with optimising code for performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing visual and audio
assets. A key part of your role will be ensuring that games run efficiently across different platforms and devices,
and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technology advancements.
Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C, and JavaScript is essential, along with experience in
game development frameworks like Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot. Familiarity with 3D mathematics, physics
programming, and GPU-based optimisation is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capability to work collaboratively in an agile development environment are also crucial.
Additional skills in shader programming, artificial intelligence for gaming, and experience with multi-platform
development will be advantageous.
Experience Required:
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, game development, or a related field, with at
least 3 years of hands-on experience in the gaming industry or in a similar role. Proven experience in releasing
and supporting commercial games or interactive media projects is required. A solid portfolio showcasing game
development projects, especially with any mobile, PC, or console game releases, will be highly beneficial.
